Slash and Burn: the process of clearing land in order to enable new growth.

I’ve been blogging with tumblr since 2009 when I started Hello Lightfoot. This blog has since taken on many personalities and make overs. But the name became a personal mantra, moniker, and even a band. Initially, Hello Lightfoot was a pretty mopey breakup-journal, used mostly as a dump for digital sorrows (thanks for putting up with me during that phase). Over the years, it grew into a collection of my photography, poetry, and other musings. I became immersed in the Tumblr community - some of my best friends today are amazing people I only know digitally (how nerdy is that?).

This summer, as I drafted a plan for my next stage on the web and the project I’ve been wanting to do for years but didn’t have the resources or knowledge, I thought to myself,

“I should just delete this old thing and start new, right?”

Well, it turns out I’m a terribly sentimental schmuck, and that lil blog of mine (which consists only of reblogs and Instagrams these days) is a time capsule of my early twenties. 6 years is a long haul! I couldn’t bring myself to do it. So, there she shall rest, as a window into my past.

I don’t spend as much time in front of a computer as I used to, and I’m very happy about that. Although I am nostalgic as I say goodbye, I am very excited for this new project. I am going to combine my love for fashion and music and everything in between to showcase what I am up to in NYC and the amazing people I have the good fortune to work with. Hello Lightfoot was everything I needed to get me to where I am. No more hiding behind a moniker, time for new challenges.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I don’t want to lose touch with you! I’m not going away, if anything, I am going to be here more than ever. So, please follow along as I start fresh, this time, for new growth.
